Putting Faith Into Action
Habitat for Humanity is about tearing down walls and building bridges. It is about bringing hope and transforming lives. It is about faith and serving others.

Our vision is that all people deserve and will have a decent and affordable home. “Building on Faith” propels this movement forward and creates real change while bringing hope to those in need.  As a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat and the churches of La Plata County are natural partners. By working together we can serve God’s children by providing simple, decent housing to low-income families. Our mission is an opportunity to put faith and love into action while bringing diverse groups of people together and making affordable housing and stronger communities a reality for all. Through our collective efforts we can make simple, decent and affordable housing a matter of conscience and action!

Building On Faith: 2013!

Habitat’s “Building on Faith” is an exciting, monthly campaign to engage faith community members in building permanent, affordable homes for families who need them most. Many request have prompted us to open one Sunday a month to allow churches to use the jobsite as an opportunity to put their faith in action. Spaces are limited, please call to secure your congregation’s Building on Faith Day.

•Volunteers from many local churches build together during the upcoming months while creating a sense of community with one another and the families they serve!

•Volunteering on the build site begins May and ends October 2013.

•Monetary contributions can also be made throughout the year or as a congregation to various aspects of the build (EX. Lumber Package $15,000, Windows & Doors Package $6,000). Please call for pledging amounts that fit your congregation’s budget appropriately. All donations welcome and appreciated.  No donations are required to experience this amazing act of giving!
