Putting Faith Into Action
Habitat for Humanity is about tearing down walls and building bridges. It is about bringing hope and transforming lives. It is about faith and serving others.

Our vision is that all people deserve and will have a decent and affordable home. "Building on Faith" propels this movement forward and creates real change while bringing hope to those in need.  As a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat and the churches of La Plata County are natural partners. By working together we can serve God's children by providing simple, decent housing to low-income families. Our mission is an opportunity to put faith and love into action while bringing diverse groups of people together and making affordable housing and stronger communities a reality for all. Through our collective efforts we can make simple, decent and affordable housing a matter of conscience and action!

Building On Faith: June 2011!

Habitat's "Building on Faith" is an exciting, month-long campaign to engage faith community members in building permanent, affordable homes for families who need them most.

•Volunteers from many local churches build together during the month of June while creating a sense of community with one another and the families they serve!

•Volunteering on the build site begins June 1st and ends June 30th.

•With a goal of a $1,000 monetary donation to Habitat for Humanity per “faith building team," these donations help cover the cost of construction materials used during the time individuals are volunteering.

•“Building On Faith” participants will be announced in the Durango Herald and to all Habitat volunteers and supporters in our Fall Newsletter.
