Women Build

Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program promotes the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat homes. Women-built projects provide opportunities for women to learn construction in a supportive environment. Women Build works with affiliates to nurture, recruit and train women to build and maintain simple, decent, healthy and affordable homes.
By planning projects where the majority of volunteers are women, Women Build creates greater involvement in our construction efforts which increases the number of homes Habitat can build! Women needn't wait for others to address substandard housing issues. They have the capability and determination to be part of the solution-one family at a time.
Women Build is an opportunity for women to come together, build community and empower all involved! But also keep in mind...Women Build is not about excluding men, it is about including women!

"Of all the adventurous things I have done, this is one I am most proud of."
Mary "Jeff" Karraker (former Park Ranger, 70 yrs.)

Women crews have nearly built 1,000 Habitat houses around the world. Each year 150 or more homes are added as affiliates, donors and sponsors discover the impact of women volunteers and their resources.
