Vice President

Chris Drummond has been in the construction field for over thirty years, and has experience in residential, commercial, and historic restoration work. Chris first joined Habitat as a builder when living in Texas. After moving to Durango, Chris joined Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County Board of Directors, and currently serves as the Vice President.

Treasurer

Michael Wienold was originally a mechanical engineer and accountant in the late-2000's. He first volunteered on Habitat builds in 2014 in Raleigh, NC with his Rotary Club's biannual build days. He has served as the Treasurer of the Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County Board since 2021.

Secretary

Born and raised in Durango, Rebecca Applegate witnessed firsthand how the dream of affordable homeownership has become increasingly out of reach for many in our community. As a local real estate agent with a background in finance and marketing, she bring both professional insight and personal passion to the mission of Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County. She believes that safe, stable housing is foundational to a thriving community, and is honored to support the work of making homeownership possible for more of our neighbors. Rebecca is also a proud Blue Star Mom, and in her off time, you’ll find her spending time with family, riding her horse, snowboarding at Purgatory, or simply enjoying life in the beautiful San Juan Mountains that she is lucky to call home.

Lee and his wife, Suzanne moved to Durango in July of 2021. Prior to that they lived in Mesa, AZ where Lee retired as a senior engineering program manager for the Boeing Company. In that role, he was privileged to manage multiple large Research and Development programs. As with many people in Durango, Lee’s interests include cycling and skiing. Upon to moving to Durango, Lee and Suzanne looked for a church home so that they could become involved with the community. They found that in the Summit Church of Durango. Through members of that church Lee found Habitat for Humanity. He began volunteering in April of 2022 and has been active in build projects from that point. He joined the HFHLPC board of directors in August of 2024. Lee also volunteers with the Native Hope ministry at Summit church and has volunteered at Manna soup kitchen. Prior to moving to Durango, he volunteered with the homeless ministry at his church in Arizona. Lee earned a Masters of Engineering degree for the University of Florida in 1976.
