Management Staff

  • Jessica Jones (she/her)

    Executive Director

    Jessica Jones serves as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County, where she brings passion, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to helping families achieve the dream of homeownership. Originally from Washington State, Jessica studied at Washington State University and spent years running a for-profit business before making the leap into the nonprofit world.

  • Lazarus Matthews (they/them)

    Development Manager

    Lazarus Matthews, the new Development Manager for Habitat for Humanity, is originally from Colorado Springs and moved to Durango in 2012, where they quickly fell in love with the area’s vibrant community and natural beauty. As the former owner of Omni Bagels, Lazarus honed their entrepreneurial skills while building strong connections within the local community. They also served as the Community Relations Director and Event Coordinator for The Four Corners Alliance for Diversity, where they focused on advocating for and supporting marginalized communities in La Plata County. Lazarus is deeply committed to bridging the gap between local nonprofits and businesses, working to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where everyone can thrive. Their work is driven by a passion for strengthening community ties and ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

  • Calvanda Atcitty (she/her)

    General Manager - ReStore

    Calvanda Atcitty is originally from Shiprock, New Mexico and was raised in Farmington. Her life goal is to accomplish a career as a pharmacist. But in the meantime, she has found Habitat from her little sister LaManda. She is thrilled to be working with Habitat ReStore. It is something she had never thought she’d be doing however she enjoys it very much. Perhaps too much, as she’ll have a dream one night and get an idea as to where to put a rug or a couch!

Support Staff

  • Jessica Laitsch (she/her)

    Administrative Assistant

     Jessica Laitsch grew up in Durango and attended school at Fort Lewis College. She has worked in various administrative and finance support roles for La Plata County and the Southwest Colorado Council of Governments. She lives near Durango with her husband and daughter.

  • Natalia Lansing (they/them)

    Assistant Manager - ReStore

    Natalia is originally from Gallup, New Mexico. They grew up on the Navajo rez before moving to Durango to attend Fort Lewis college. They chose to work at Habitat ReStore because of its positive impact on the local community.
