We are limiting participation by adhering to a RSVP to volunteer involvement. Thus, please email [email protected] and check out our new protocol. Our volunteer coordinator will respond to your request. Please weigh your own personal involvement and risk factors prior to any participation. The safety and health of all our volunteers is of utmost importance; yet, we acknowledge that many COVID 19 factors are still unknown. We will follow our local guidelines issued by San Juan Basin Health Department. In addition, we have created a specific set of protocols for the 2021 BUILD, currently underway. We will not be accepting drop-ins at this time.
Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County is currently engaging enthusiastic volunteer groups and individuals.
Please Note: If you are a first time volunteer you will need to contact us with your interests at [email protected].
Please read and follow the guidelines on the construction safety page. Vital information such as times, age requirement, tool and lunch instructions are provided on site. Colorado Law does not allow volunteers under 16 years of age on construction sites. Volunteers who are 16 or 17-years-old cannot perform tasks such as working on the roof, using power tools and getting on ladders or scaffolding. All volunteers must sign a current waiver before they will be allowed on site.
If you are volunteering as part of a faith-based or corporate group, check with your coordinator for site information or contact our Volunteer Coordinator. It is essential that you call ahead to schedule a time to volunteer as space is limited and weather can alter the schedule.
